At a very affordable day use rate of P150 for adults, P125 for 3 to 6-year olds and free for those below 3 years old, Hidden Valley Wave Pool Resort is definitely worth the visit. Cottages are at P500, which can accommodate up to 6 persons (pool side) and the ones away from the pool area can contain up to 10 persons. There are also the “mushroom” cottages at P800, which are located near the pool and can contain up to 10 persons. The big kiosk is at P2,000 and the white tent with 3 tables is at P1,500. Take note that there are corkage fees – P50 per menu/volume, P100 per case of drinks and P250 per 1 whole lechon. For those who want to stay overnight, you can get a room at P2,500 to P3,500. There are also dormitories that can fit large groups. The zipline and sky bike can be experienced at P150 for 1-way and P200 for 2-ways.

Every 1 hour, the horn will sound and the machine-made waves will start. Usually, during this time, the pool gets crowded because those guests who are just staying at the cottages will go to the pool and enjoy the waves. They will go back to their seats after the waves are gone.

Notably, the water of the pool is sanitized regularly. There are a couple of filters that regularly vacuum the water, clean it then put it back to the pool. Aside from the beautiful view of the surrounding greenery, you can also see a cascading waterfall and cave in the middle of the mountain.

  • How to get there

The best and most practical option is to hire a van at only P3,000 for drop-off only or P4,000 for round trip, especially if you are in large groups. A Toyota Grandia GL is perfect for 2-12 persons. From any point in Metro Cebu, you can go directly to Hidden Valley Wave Pool Resort at just 2 hours travel time, in an air-conditioned and comfortable van.

If you want to travel by public transport, you can take the bus going to Toledo or Pinamungajan at the South Bus Terminal in Cebu City. Tell the driver or conductor to drop you at the corner going to barangay Bunga, it is just a few kilometers away from Lutopan. From the corner, take a habal-habal going to the mountain for only P120, good for 2 persons. It is about 14 to 15 kilometers from the highway going to barangay Lamac, where the 2 resorts are located. It is along a concrete road on the mountain. Remarkably, traveling at this area especially at night can be scary – no lights, less houses, less people, steep slopes and blind curves.

If you want a much safer option, just use your own vehicle or rent a van to take you there. Unless you are the one driving, you can just sleep and relax for 2 hours inside the vehicle, listen to music and have a blast in the resort once you are there.
